The documents also mention the new Hulu “On Us” benefit recently announced by T-Mobile, shown below. As we covered in our previous article, customers receiving Netflix Basic (soon to be Standard with Ads) will receive Hulu with Ads for 6 months, and customers with Netflix Standard will receive the full Hulu with Ads “On Us” just like the Next plan.Ĭustomers will be informed of the changes to Netflix via SMS to the primary line on the account beginning today, and the change to Netflix Standard with Ads will occur on January 24th. Upgrading from Standard with Ads to regular Standard will cost $8.50 per month, and upgrading to Premium will cost $16 per month. T-Mobile customers will, as usual, have the option to upgrade their Netflix package to a higher tier for an additional cost. Customers receiving Standard “On Us” will continue receiving standard at no cost. Note the above chart is for customers receiving the Netflix Basic, like Go5G, Magenta, etc. In addition, you’ll be able to watch on up to 2 screens at a time now. On the other hand, these customers will have the quality of their content increased from the 720p on Basic to 1080p on Standard. Customers will be going from having an ad-free viewing experience to one with ads, which is a huge downside. Obviously, the biggest change is advertisements. Plans that receive Netflix “Basic” will now receive Netflix “Standard with Ads” starting January 24th. There are, however, some changes coming to customers that receive the Netflix “Basic” service.Īccording to documents shared with us here at The Mobile Report, T-Mobile will be adjusting the Netflix subscription offered to some customers. Regardless, the company still offers Netflix for free to a majority of customers. At the time, subscribers received Netflix Standard for free, though since then prices have changed a bit. T-Mobile has offered Netflix subscriptions for free to customers since all the way back in 2017.
